Go Redbirds!

We went to our first Redbirds game of the year. Nothing better than free tickets behind home plate! It was a beautiful night for a baseball game and we pigged out on funnel cakes and whatnot. :) The only downside is they still don't have real Dippin' Dots back and the Redbirds lost. But it was a great night for a bunch of broke bored people.

Another successful dinner.

Mitch and I are on a brownie binge and have been for a few weeks now. I make at least a batch of brownies a week if not more. Mitch and I have found out that brownies and ice cream make a wonderful breakfast, lunch, dinner and snack..

Thank you.

Thank the Lord for Tombstone pizzas. We might starve if it weren't for this $2 miracle.

Flea Market.

Hip hip hooray for flea markets. We always go to the The Big One Flea Market when it comes. I go to just look around and get my makeup cheap and Mitch just goes for the food. My makeup cost $28, but we always end up spending another $30 0r $40 on food. We always get Mitch's favorite German Roasted Nuts and usually a Pronto Pup plus a drink to wash it all down. Then, after watching him eat I've gotten hungry so we have to get me a funnel cake. After about another 45 minutes of me dragging Mitch around some more, he's gotten hot and needs a snow cone. So by the time we are ready to leave we've gotten one thing that's useful and almost eaten our electric bill. Thankfully it only comes once a month so our lights get to stay on. :)

Mitch and his roasted pecans..

Technology.

We finally went to go get another wireless router  which made me realize how much I hate technology. I can't stand cell phones and all that unnecessary stuff. I wouldn't mind it so much if it were easy to keep up with. But every time you turn around they've changed everything on you! I had to have Daniel come set up our first wireless router that was a spare from my dad, so I didn't have any problems. We went to the store to get another one and I swear I didn't even understand the little pictures and arrows on the boxes! Mitch finally figured it out and we decided on one. We got it home and it was the same brand as the last one we had. I was relieved and figured it wouldn't be too hard to set up. I opened the box and I swear it looked like a space ship..a little mini spaceship. There is no way the same thing could look so different. I thought I was going to have to have Daniel come fix it again! But luckily, it had a disc that had pictures and step by step instructions. :)

Semi-Charmed Kinda Life

Life is great. I forgot to make tea last night, so we didn't have anything to drink today except milk. The milk went well with our breakfast of brownies and ice cream, until we started eating Poncho's. So as I was about to start making tea, Mitch said "Baby, sit down and I'll make the tea for you." I sat down and my wonderful husband started the tea. We finished our movie because I like to leave the tea to steep for awhile. Well, when I got up to finish the tea..I came to find out that my precious husband didn't push the pitcher all the way to the tea maker. He successfully steeped our countertops. It took a good 15 minutes to clean it up and scrub the tea stains out of our crisp white countertops. We couldn't stop laughing, it was hilarious.

Yes, it went all the way around to the other side of the countertop also.

Also, on a side note. I've had this pair of flips flops for six years. They actually look decent after I 409ed them today. Old Navy makes cheap uncomfortable ones these days, so I refuse to get rid of them. And yes, I do believe that these old turquoise flips flops match anything I put on. :)

Dinner..

I had one very successful dinner I cooked for Paige and Nick. I made yogurt chicken, sweet potatoes, broccoli with a lemon garlic sauce, and Mitch's favorite tortilla bread things. I wish I had taken pictures as evidence, but I forgot. I was so proud of myself for not burning the house down. I really don't like cooking, I'm not very good at planning and timing things right. I had a nervous breakdown in the middle of preparing it, but recovered with Mitch's encouragement. I hadn't planned on it taking so long to get ready, so I wasn't going to be able to pick up the apartment before our guests arrived, but Mitch saved the day. He cleaned up everything and even vacuumed! I was so thankful..and I had dinner on the table as soon as they got there! It actually was good, it's hard for me to even be able to make some of Mimi's recipes taste bad.
But, I didn't make a large meal the next night. Actually, we just had breakfast for dinner. That's what I'm best at. I can make some really ugly, but tasty pancakes. :)
And I did take pictures of that.

I've almost gotten Mitch's eggs over easy perfected. I was always a scrammbled egg girl, sunny side up has been quite a challenge. And no matter what I do, I make a huge mess and am awful about leaving the oven on. Thank the Lord for Mitch. He always comes behind me to check things out.

Nerds

Sorry for the delay, the "big storm of 2009" fried our internet thing..so we think. Then again, we aren't experts. The storm didn't cause any damage anywhere near us. Olive Branch got hit pretty hard, including Mitch's parents' house. They had a tree fall on their house, thankfully it didn't damage the roof at all. So the next morning we were able to successfully cut it down without knocking any holes in the house and my dad didn't break the chainsaw. Wonderful.

Mitch and I have been reading like a couple who has been married for 30 years. We come home from work and are excited to read our books. I finally finished the Twilight series last night. I was slightly disappointed at the end. For one, I didn't want the story to end because I was really enjoying it. Secondly, the ending wasn't exactly what I expected. It ended well, but a little weak. Also Mitch read his first book since probably eighth grade. He read a Frank Peretti mystery and really enjoyed it. The next day he went to the book store and bought four more books. Nerd. :)

Mufasa is at the house now, too. We are so excited to have our baby home. He's so big in this little apartment, but he seems to like it. I think he misses his best buddy, Sadie, though. It was awful the first night we brought him here though. He wasn't her for more than 15 minutes and he nose dived into a fresh pile of poop outside. So he definitely got a welcome home bath!

Other than just working and reading, Mitch and I are pretty boring. We keep saying we're going to go try out the pool, but it's so crowded. They have closed one because, apparently someone almost died a few weekends ago. So hopefully once it's back open, we'll go check out the pool. We both desperately need a tan.

But that's all we've got going on these days. We're trying to keep up with anything that is thrilling enough to actually write about or even remember!

Our puppy, Mufasa, and we being a good wife. Paying bills and balancing the check book! :)

Butt Cheek

Hello! Sorry, I have been a whiney baby for the past week due to a spider bite on my butt cheek. I apologize for the visual, but anyway.

Mitch and have just been working and obsessively watching House. We are now on the fourth season and trying to milk it because we aren't sure when the fifth season comes out. It's pitiful. I'm also finally reading the Twilight series. The book was much better than the movie. I'm in the middle of the second one, New Moon, now.

We've hung a picture and calender, crooked. We put up a cabinet in our bathroom for some much needed storage.  I hung our coffee cups above the stove, saves space and looks cute.

And that's about all going on these days..

Just some more pictures..
