Flash back a few weeks ago. We were in a citrus kind of mood, so we bought a huge bag of oranges. Apparently we're too dense to take a good look at the bag before we bought it, first mistake. These pitiful oranges were already at the end of their lives, and I figured it out when I grabbed an orange with one shriveled side..yuck. It was a bummer, but our bigger mistake was that we didn't check the cabinet for any stow-aways. So one fell out of the bag and made a home behind one of my skillets, a very disgusting moldy home. Thank goodness we don't keep any food in the cabinet, but it was so gross to clean up. Mitch just laughed at me as I scrubbed the cabinet down and rewashed all the pots and pans..

Collective Soul.

Mitch and I went to the Collective Soul concert at Snowden Grove. Our buds Mark and Blair went with us. It was hilarious, Mitch had to have the worst luck that night. We got there late so I didn't get to see all of Collective Soul, so to make up for it Mitch decided to surprise me with a Pronto Pup..but honestly, I can barely stand the smell of corn dogs. So after Mitch jammed down two foot long Pronto Pups in about 3 minutes, we went on the hunt for nachos. After waiting a good ten minutes in line, we find out we only have three dollars, not four. So Mitch feels even worse, but finally we get the nachos with a one dollar loan from our pal Mark. It was so cute to watch how hard Mitch was trying with no luck at all..haha. But we did enjoy the concert, it was nice to get out and listen to some good tunes.
My pot roast.
My first pot roast was a success. Some might laugh because it's almost impossible to mess up a roast in the crock pot, but it's me cooking. I was overly anxious to make is so I cooked it overnight, rather than all day while we were at work. But other than the little bit of crispy veggies on top, it was delicious and tender. Even Mitch enjoyed it, and he's not a big roast fan.

Mitch was only gone to Walmart for maybe an hour..

Mufasa and I were just hanging around.
Then he decided to rip apart one of his toys.
And I just let him have at it.
He was just too precious.
Mitch just shook his head when he got home..
Eat your heart out.
Cooking is Bogus.
We got home from work and I decided to make Mitch some yummy alfredo. The pot I needed was dirty so I washed it and began to cook. I successfully made alfredo, baked sweet potatoes, and Mitch's bread. After dinner, I cleaned up, washed the pot again, and sat down to relax. Then, Mitch's little brother came over..hungry. So I pulled out the same pot and made him some mac n' cheese. Then I washed the same pot for third time in about and hour.

Then I wanted something sweet..so I began baking a red velvet cake. Although I don't have two 9'' round pans, I was determined to make a two layer cake. I got out 8x8 pan and decided to cook one half at a time. Suddenly I remembered I aslo had a glass 8x8 pan, but in my haste I forgot to grease the pan. Ugh. It turned into a disaster. I forgot to turn of the burner from making the mac n' cheese, so I almost caught the pot holder on fire..then the top of both cakes got stuck to the chopping boards I used to flip them out of their pans. Finally, I finished the icing the cake and was ready to dig in. After we ate our dessert I realized that we didn't own one of those nifty cake holder things. So, it sat on a chopping board with the biggest bowl we have on top with a bunch of paper towels stuffed in all the cracks..yay.
I can't step in our kitchen without something going wrong.
